To provide a healing space (online and in person) where Black, Brown, LGBTQ+ and other marginalized community members feel comfortable and empowered in learning about and making decisions about their health.

Our Who

Temperance Taylor is the Nurse Practitioner you can look forward to seeing for all of your visits with Lotus Noire. She is passionate about providing nonjudgmental, careful, and care FULL healthcare options to allow people to feel comfortable and relaxed when they see their health care provider.

Temperance believes that every patient is the most important person on their own health care team. She is doing her part to eliminate preventable diseases within the Black community. Her goal is to help even the playing field, developing health equity solutions for people who are often shoved aside and not believed by the American healthcare industry: Black, Brown and LGBTQ community members.

Temperance lives in Providence and has one son and a dog.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, singing, and hanging out at the beach.  She also loves to paint, crochet, knit, and just about any other craft.  Her favorite place to visit is Brazil.

Temperance’s philosophies of providing healthcare are “everyone deserves world-class care” and “treat human beings like human beings. She is passionate about giving excellent patient care and can’t wait to meet you!

Temperance Taylor is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).  She provides care for the whole family, including prenatal care, pediatrics, women's health, men's health, and medical weight loss.  Practicing in the state of Rhode Island, she does not require a supervising physician and does not have one.  She operates Lotus Noire Health as the sole owner.  Lotus Noire Health is not affiliated with any other practice or hospital.
